Radio controlled bomb explodes in Kabardino-Balkaria

A self-made explosive device triggered today evening in Nalchik. The explosion occurred at the moment when a militia patrol was passing by. There were no victims.

The incident occurred approximately at 16:40 in Severnaya Street of Nalchik, in front of the "VAZ spares" shop. The bomb was a self-made radio controlled explosive device based on standard grenade RGD-5, reports Tatiana Nauzhokova, senior assistant of chief of investigation department, to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

The "Caucasian Knot" reported already that this was a second explosion in Nalchik today. In the morning, unidentified persons exploded the car VAZ-2114 belonging to an officer of Nalchik branch of Krasnodar institute of Russian MoI. The explosion occurred when the militiaman was approaching the car, there were no victims.

For reference, on June 30, an explosion occurred near the traffic militia post in Nalchik, a self-made explosive device with 110 grams trotyl equivalent capacity triggered. No one suffered as a result. On June 27, a self-made explosive device triggered on the Prokhladny-Elbrus federal highway in Elbrus district, Kabardino-Balkaria, near the village of Verkhni Baksan. There were no victims either.
