Malgobek resident asks rights defenders to help his son detained by militia
Bersnako Nalgiev, a resident of Ingushetia, has addressed human rights activists with a request to help in defending the rights of his son Alaudin, 19, who was detained on July 14 in Malgobek as a suspect of helping militants. As he said, his son was beaten at detention.
"Alaudin is a sportsman, a football player. On July 14, he went with his friends to his training session from Inarki village, where we live, to Malgobek. Their car was stopped at the road police post; they asked the name of my son, and he named himself. There were no claims to them, and they went further. However, almost at once a Lada-Priora car drove up to them; the agents stopped them, jumped out, put a bag over Alaudin's head, pushed him into their car and drove to the police station," Mr Nalgiev told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
He said that he learnt about the incident from Alaudin's friends. "I ran to militia at once. On the following day, July 15, I went to Nazran, and addressed the 'Memorial', 'Mashr', administration of the President and Ombudsman. However, I received no essential support. All this time, more than 24 hours, advocate was not let to my son, and even no inspector came to him. The guy doesn't know what he was detained for," said the father.
