Kabardino-Balkaria: militia checks data on Shadov's kidnapping
The fact of kidnapping of Anzor Shadov, a resident of the city of Nartkala, Urvan District, is under preliminary check, as envisioned by the law, said advocate Zhamal Mokaev, who represents the interests of the Shadov family.
"Law enforcement bodies have the right to run a preliminary check for ten days. Then, a criminal case may be opened," Mr Mokaev told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
As reported by Rosa Shadova, Anzor's aunt, eyewitnesses saw that on July 21 at 11 o'clock in the evening in the city of Nartkala Anzor Shadov, who drove out of his house in his Volkswagen Passat car, was stopped by unknown armed people in masks. They forced him into their Gazel van and took away to some unknown location.
On July 22, Shadov's car was found outside the city, between villages Germenchik and Chernaya Rechka. The keys from the car were on a seat; and there were no documents inside.
According to Rosa Shadova, her nephew has just graduated from the Kabardino-Balkarian Agricultural Academy, and on July 23 he was to receive his diploma.
Under the assertions of the woman, Anzor was not praying and had nothing to do with religious extremists.
