Power agents suspect Kazbek Tashuev of organizing the Baksan HPP terror act

Law enforcement bodies believe that one of militants' leaders - Kazbek Tashuev - may stand behind the explosions at the Baksan Hydraulic Power Plant (HPP) in Kabardino-Balkaria triggered on July 21. This was stated by a source from power agencies of the NCFD (North-Caucasian Federal District. According to his version, members of his grouping were recognized by the workers of the HPP.

Possible involvement of Tashuev in the terror act was reported by the RIA "Novosti", which marked that no official comments to this end have been received so far.

Kazbek Tashuev, 31, a resident of Baksan, also known under his Moslem name Abdul-Dzhabbar, is the leader of the so-called Baksan Jama'at. After Anzor Astemirov was liquidated this March in Nalchik, Tashuev became the main candidate for the vacant position of militants' leader. However, Asker Dzhappuev, 39, a resident of Tyrnyauz, known under his Moslem name of Abdullah, was appointed to be Astemirov's assignee, while Tashuev remained his subordinate and head of the Baksan Jama'at, the "Kommersant" writes.

According to the edition, earlier in one of extremists' websites Abdullah and Abdul-Dzhabbar made a joint statement, where they actually announced a war to employees of law enforcement bodies. "We'll do jihad," the statement ran. After that, a series of attacks on power agents was committed in the republic, and especially in the Baksan District: law enforcers were blown up in their cars and shot dead near their houses.
