Protesters detained at Saakashvili's residence in Tbilisi

Levan Chitadze, Leval Kochloshvili and Georgiy Apkhadze, members of the "No" movement, were arrested in the course of the protest action, held near the President's residence Avlabari, in the capital of Georgia, and demanding release of political prisoners.

The arrest was preceded by a skirmish of protesters with policemen, who asked them not to put stickers to the gate of Mikhail Saakashvili's residence. Besides, oppositionists tried to write "Freedom" on asphalt with indelible paint.

The activists would not obey to warning, and Leval Kochloshvili struck a patrol policeman. Supposedly, all the three detainees will be accused of disobedience to the police and violation of the "Law on Manifestations", the "Gazeta.Ru" writes.

Tiko Niblashvili, a member of the youth movement "Ara", said that at present the detainees are kept in the building of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) of Georgia.

The oppositionists stated during their action that 61 persons are now kept in Georgia behind bars on political grounds; 350 inmates were imprisoned illegally, and eight persons were detained on religious motives, the IA "News-Georgia" reports.
