Dagestan postpones election of Gergebil head for absence of candidates
Initially, four candidates were registered to the post of the head of Gergebil village, Gergebil District of Dagestan, but all of them recalled at the request of the village community. Thus, the election of the village head planned for October 10 was cancelled for absence of candidates.
The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told at the territorial election commission of the Gergebil District that public activists and the elders addressed the candidates to the post of the village head and, saying that they do not see a worthy person among them, asked the applicants to recall their candidacies; and it was done by them.
Now, according to preliminary plans, the new election of the head of the village will be held in March next year.
