Deceived housing shareholders in Rostov Region declare their intention to fight for their flats

According to regional authorities, today in the Rostov Region more than 80 percent of high-rise buildings under construction are funded by shareholders. In some cases, they fall into the category of deceived shareholders and start fighting for rights to own apartments. According to activists, there's little success in this fight; while the government, while dealing with the problem, not always involves victims in the process.

Let us remind you that in late October it became known that Larissa Tarasenkova, director of the construction limited liability company (LLC) "Yulia" from the Rostov Region, was suspected of embezzlement of shareholders' money. According to investigators, she misappropriated 31 million roubles received from 23 shareholders for building two houses. Having built one house, her organization did not even start the second one.

Besides, Tarasenkova borrowed over 3 million roubles from her friends on development of her business, which she never returned.

"The criminal case was initiated at the demand of the Prosecutor's Office of the Rostov Region after studying the materials of the audit conducted by investigatory bodies in response to numerous appeals of the shareholders of the LLC "Yulia", who failed to move into their new flats on the contracted dates. At present, the criminal case was sent to the Bataisk City Court for consideration on the merits," the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told at the press service of the Regional Prosecutor's Office.

The correspondent failed to get any comments from Larissa Tarasenkova. Shareholders say that finding Tarasenkova is impossible.

One of the victims named Sergey has noted, when narrating his story, that the LLC "Yulia" had built a house but failed to prepare necessary documents. "As a result, for almost two years we live illegally. It was good that local authorities understood our unenviable situation," said a source of the "Caucasian Knot".

"There are quite a lot of deceived shareholders in the region and, in particular, in Bataisk. As far as I know, currently there are three unfinished blocks of flats in the city, which are in particularly serious situation. As to these buildings, shareholders can get nothing from the authorities or company bosses," the woman-leader of the initiative group SZhM-16 and also a deceived shareholder told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

She noted that deceived shareholders did not create any special committee in the city or region. "But we are constantly communicating, as the topic is the same, although situations are different. Together we go to rallies and protest actions, which we hold permanently. But so far - no results," said the source.

Natalia Misyuk is also a deceived shareholder. According to her story, the situation was discussed in Rostov-on-Don; however, the deceived shareholders were not invited.

As reported by the press service of the office of the Governor of the Rostov Region, there are 28 problematic blocks of flats in the region.
