Fine imposed on former head of military hospital in Mozdok

The Pyatigorsk Garrison Court Martial pronounced sentence on the former head of the military hospital in Mozdok blown up by kamikaze terrorists. As a source at the court informed on December 10, the court found Lieutenant Colonel of the Medical Service Artur Arakelyan guilty of negligence by Article 293 of the Russian Criminal Code and imposed a penalty at the rate of 130 minimal wages, i.e. 13 thousand rubles, on him.

On August 1, 2003, a KamAZ truck filled with explosives and driven by kamikaze terrorists rammed the gates of the hospital and blew up at the building. The terrorist act left 50 people dead and over 80 people injured.
