Murder of Yunus Yakubov - details

On December 7, the day of the Russian State Duma elections, Yunus V. Yakubov, 1948, was killed in Gudermes. He was an observer for the Chechen regional branch of the United Russia Party. He has lived in Gudermes and has been know among the population as a person active in public life.

After 6 p.m., on his way to a polling station, Yunus Yakubov fell victim to an attack by unknown people, who fired five pistol shots at him.

There were two attackers, a witness says. They shot their victim point-blank and escaped from the scene.
