Operation to detain rebels resumed in Dagestan

The large-scale operation to search for and destroy groups of rebels who shot down a detail of 9 border guards on Monday December 15 has been resumed in the Tsuntinsky district of Dagestan in the morning today.

The operations headquarters keeps on receiving information from locals, saying that rebels divided into small groups are circling in the Tsuntinsky district, reported deputy head of the district administration Nurula Abdul Kadyrov.

9 border guards, including a border post commander, were killed on the night of December 14-15 in a clash with the rebels near the village of Shauri.
