A girl who became victim of gang rape in Kabardino-Balkaria sent to a rehabilitation center

A girl who underwent gang rape in Kabardino-Balkaria will take a course of rehabilitation in the republican social and rehabilitation center for underage.

Over 15 people in the settlement of Nartane are suspected of the rape at the fourteen-year-old girl.

According to the girl’s mother, this spring her daughter started staying at school too long after classes and once she did not come home for the night. The girl’s mother says that after that some young men who came by cars started calling the girl out of the house and threatened violence if the girl refused to come out to them. The woman tried to call militia but according to her, the militia did not come.

The Ministry of Interior Affairs of Kabardino-Balkaria started inspection on inaction of the personnel of Chegem Department of Interior Affairs on the fact of a long-term gang rape at the girl.

On July, 12, upon a request of Chegem district Public prosecutor’s office the girl was taken to the republican social and rehabilitation center for underage in Nalchik.

“I was told there was a psychologist there who would take care of her. My daughter likes it in the center, the conditions are good there”, RIA “Novosti” quotes the girl’s mother.

The girl is expected to stay two weeks in the center, “Informational and News Channel of KBR” reports.
