Alleged information about Ruslan Gelayev's death is not confirmed yet

The Dagestani Prosecutor's Office has not confirmed the fact of Ruslan Gelayev's destruction yet. The information on the destruction of the Chechen rebels' leader is being checked now, reported a source at the republican Prosecutor's Office.

At the same time the fact that Ruslan Gelayev could be among the rebels killed in the Tsuntinsky district of Dagestan is not excluded by the Prosecutor's Office staff. The death of the rebels' leader can be asserted for sure only when the body is identified, the source added.

Earlier some media spread information on the destruction of Ruslan Gelayev in the course of the army operation in the Tsuntinsky district of Dagestan. They referred to the investigating department of the Dagestani Prosecutor's Office.
