Stavropol police frees kidnapped girl

The Stavropol police have freed a 14-year-old kidnapped girl, whom the bandits have been holding locked up for fourteen days. A source at the Information Office of the Stavropol Territorial Interior Department informed that the bandits had wanted to get a ransom of half a million rubles for her release.

The child's parents applied to the police. One of the bandits, who came to get the ransom, was caught red-handed. He was a 33-year-old jobless from the village of Orlovka, the Kirov District of Stavropol Territory. The gang hid the girl in that village. When being questioned, the arrested man named his associates right away ? a 21-year-old Orlovka woman and two unemployed men from the town of Novopavlovsk.
