Winners of contest "Civil Society Heroes" awarded in Ingushetia
On January 10, in Nazran, in the "Assa" Hotel, the winners of the contest "Civil Society Heroes", established by the human rights organization "MASHR", were awarded.
The human rights activist Magomed Mutsolgov, the head of the "MASHR", wrote in his blog on the "Caucasian Knot" that the aim of the contest was to identify those persons, who showed their active civil position in 2011.
Ruslan Badalov, the member of the regional public movement "Chechen National Salvation Congress" was the first person awarded. He received the diploma "For special contribution to protection of human rights and civil society development". Ruslan Badalov dedicated more than 10 years to the protection of human rights of refugees and internally displaced persons (IDPs).
The second diploma "For special contribution to protection of human rights and civil society development" went to Musa Zurabov, Chairman of the Coordinating Council of NGOs in Ingushetia, for his work to protect the constitutional rights of citizens.
In the nomination "For activity in field of human rights", the diploma went to Ruslan Parchiev, Chairman of the NGO "Union of victims of genocide", who protected rights of IDPs from the Progorodny District. Musa Malsagov, Chairman of the Branch of the Russian Red Cross in Ingushetia, was the best in the nomination "For active charitable activities".
The diploma "For courage and expression of civil position" went to Idris Abadiev, Chairman of the Mekhk-Kkhel (alternative parliament of Ingushetia), known in Ingushetia as active social activist and philanthropist. In the nomination "For courage and objectivity in journalism", Magomed Toriev, the professional journalist from Ingushetia, living in Austria, the author of several articles on the social and political topics, was awarded.
In the nomination "For peacekeeping activity", the diploma went to Alikhan-Hadji Mutsolgov, Chairman of the Commission on Reconciliation of Blood Feudists (Blood Feud Avengers), who conducted conciliatory work among the population. And in the nomination "For fair activity in struggle for health of nation", Rakhim Chakhkiev, the first heavy weight boxer, the gold medallist at the Olympic Games held in 2008 in Beijing, who promoted healthy lifestyle among young people.
Ruslan Evloev, Director of the SIZO (pre-trial prison) No. 1 of the Republic of Ingushetia, was declared the winner in the nomination "For honesty in performing official duties".
Apart from diplomas, all awarded persons received gifts the book written by the poet Issa Kodzoev with author's autographs.
The event was attended by representatives of different social organizations, human rights defenders, journalists, deputies from the People's Assembly and the local self-administration.
