The interdepartmental commission to look into the problem and inquire into the reasons of kidnappings since 1999, that is to say, since the beginning of the counter-terrorist operation in the republic, will be founded in Chechnya. Such a decision was made on December 9, at the consultation held under the direction of President of Chechnya Akhmad Kadyrov.

The President himself announced it after the consultation, which was held behind closed doors. Representatives of all the republican security agencies as well as activists of public organizations will form the commission, Mr. Kadyrov noted. Vice Prime Minister of the Chechen Government Movsar Khamidov will be head of the commission.
