North Ossetia begins trying suspect of blowing up people at wedding

On March 5, the Soviet District Court of Vladikavkaz held initial hearings on the case of explosion of a gas cylinder at a wedding in June 2011. The prisoners' dock keeps Vadim Vazagov, a resident of North Ossetia.

The prosecutor's office revealed that in 2000, Vadim Vazagov bought three used gas tanks with expired inspection. The case is considered in a special manner, since the defendant fully admitted his guilt.

On March 5, 22 out of 51 victims were questioned; besides, other 12 written complaints were read. 17 victims are left to be interrogated by the Court.

Meanwhile, all persons, who had already appeared at the trial, asked not to punish Vadim Vazagov. All victims said that Vadim Vazagov himself was affected by the explosion and that his children were also affected. According to them, that was an accident and the defendant had already morally punished himself, the RIA "Novosti" reports with reference to the press service of the Court.

The next court session – the final one – is scheduled for March 12, and after that the verdict is expected to be pronounced, the "15th region" reports.
