In Tbilisi, youth activists protest against human rights violations by policemen
Today, activists of youth organizations and NGOs held a protest action in front of the Georgian MIA under the slogan "I am a free citizen."
According to Sulkhan Glonti, the leader of the youth organization of "Free Democrats", they demand from the MIA, in particular, and from the government, in general, to respect human rights. The protesters have delivered a special statement on the topic to the MIA.
The action was attended by several dozens of people, who believe that virtually all human rights are violated in the country – the freedom of speech, the property right and the right to life; and the main offender is the police, the "Georgia Online" reports."
"We express our protest against the violence, committed by our state and by the MIA, in particular! Violence in our country is systematic," Tiko Dzneladze, a Tbilisi resident, has explained her participation in the protest.
Activists of youth organizations plan to continue holding such actions, the MGTRK (Inter-State TV and Radio Company of the CIS) "Mir" reports.
