Car of missing Dagestani found in special car park of Khasavyurt

The car of the missing Akav Khalidov, 28, was found in a special car park of the city of Khasavyurt. His relatives have informed a member of the Dagestani Regional Public Organization (DRPO) "Pravozaschita" (Advocacy) about it.

Akav Khalidov's wife – Rashidat Khalidova, a resident of the village of Chontaul, Kizilyurt District of Dagestan, – reported the disappearance of her husband on March 1. She addressed on the fact to the appropriate authorities; however, the on duty unit of the Kizilyurt ROVD (District Interior Division) said that they knew nothing about the missing person.

On the eve of his kidnapping – on February 28 – Akav Khalidov was twice stopped by the police: at first, in the central marketplace of Kizilyurt – by agents of the above ROVD, and then later – at the Sultanyangiyurt police post, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told by the in DRPO "Pravozaschita".

"Both times, policemen claimed that his car was on the search list; but after they called to the ROVD and lengthy clarifications, they let him go, saying that a mistake happened because of a 'confused letter'," said the source.

According to activists of the "Pravozaschita", they managed to learn that the car of the kidnapped Khalidov was found on a guarded car park, "which belongs to the Khasavyurt City Police Department and is used to keep detainees' cars."

The on duty unit of the above Department and the Kizilyurt ROVD did not confirm this information.
