The number of participants of a hunger strike in Astrakhan came to 17 persons

Today two residents of Astrakhan joined a political hunger strike in the city. Igor Astafiev and Ruslan Sapakhov joined the protesters. So, now there are 17 participants of the hunger strike.

Initially, six people took part in the political action demanding repeal of the results of election of Mayor and city Duma of Astrakhan. On March, 17, the number of participants came to 12 people, however, on March, 18, Valentina Kukushkina was hospitalized. Valentina Vasilieva also stopped her participation in the hunger strike for health reasons.

On March, 19, four more activists joined the strikers. Yesterday, March, 20, two more persons appeared among them. However, in the evening the ambulance was called to one of the participants of the action, Sergey Chaplygin. The physicians registered a very low glucose level in his blood. Sergey Chaplygin rejected hospitalization but left the action.

This morning Andrey Lakhnov, ex-military surgeon, retired officer, carried out medical examination of the strikers and also discovered decline of glucose level in some of the participants’ blood.

According to official data, Sergey Stolyarov supported by 60% of the voters won the election of Mayor of Astrakhan. However, “Fair Russia” party refuses to acknowledge the results of the election of Mayor of Astrakhan considering that their representative Oleg Sheiyn won it.
