Djioeva, ex-candidate for presidency of South Ossetia, declares that she is kept in hospital by force

Ex-candidate for presidency of South Ossetia Alla Djioeva who was hospitalized with a hypertensic crisis in February declares that she is kept in hospital by force.

She assures that she feels well. For already two weeks Djioeva has been asking the physicians to let her leave hospital, however, her ward is still being guarded by extra-departmental guards of the Ministry of Interior Affairs of RSO. Djioeva gets no reply to her messages and appeals.

“Not a single body of power where I submit statements finds it necessary to answer. I have appealed to Vadim Brovtsev acting as President, to KGB of South Ossetia, Prosecutor General’s and the Ministry of Interior Affairs, and all these appeals were a “voice crying in the wilderness”. Ambiguity of my situation prevents the physicians from letting me leave hospital”, Djioeva said to the “Caucasian Knot” correspondent.

Meanwhile, the hospital doctor considers that not all of Djioeva’s tests correspond to normal standards, therefore it was decided to leave Djioeva in hospital till March, 24. Only Djioeva’s brother, husband and medical staff have access to her hospital ward.

“Alla is guarded by four armed security guards each moment, they follow her even when she comes out into the corridor of the unit”, ex-President’s husband Mels Djioev says.

Public prosecutor’s office of the republic withholds official comments on Djioeva’s case. However, a source in Public prosecutor’s office stated on terms on anonymity that “nobody is keeping her in hospital by force”.

  • Religion experts explain motives for militants’ attacks on synagogue and temple in Dagestan

Ayats (verses) of the Koran, references to which were left by attackers at a synagogue in Derbent, are interpreted by the extremists to justify their confrontation with Jews and Christians, Leonid Syukiyainen and Dmitry Mikulsky point out. The experts suggest that the date of the attack on the Orthodox temple was chosen by the militants because of the Christian holiday celebrated on that day.
