The Musalimov family in Khasavyurt appealed to human rights activists complaining of pressure from members of the top brass

Local policemen in Khasavyurt are bringing pressure on the Musalimovs because of the twenty-seven-years-old Salim Musalimov who has a federal wanted notice for suspicion of infringement on the life of an officer of law enforcement bodies in 2011, his mother Dagmara states. The family appealed to “Memorial” Human Rights Center and reports that Salim Musalimov has been staying in France since 2010 and could not therefore have committed the crime incriminated to him.

Mother of Four children Dagmara Musalimova asks the human rights activists to protect her family from continuous pressure and searches, Elena Denisenko, representative of “Memorial” Human Rights Center in Dagestan, told the “Caucasian Knot” correspondent.

“I ask you to look into the situation in our family and reestablish my son’s violated rights”, Dagmara Musalimova’s appeal to “Memorial” Human Rights Center and Svetlana Gannushkina, member of the Council for development of civil society and human rights with the President of the Russian Federation, runs.

The Musalimovs have been undergoing pressure from law enforcement bodies since 2008, Dagmara Musalimova says. According to her, none of her family earlier had records in militia of or was brought to criminal or administrative account.

“My sons Salim born in 1985 and Saiid born in 1990 worked in a workshop manufacturing paving tile in Khasavyurt. Everything started when at the end of 2008 the personnel of municipal Department of Interior Affairs of Khasavyurt came to the workshop and detained the whole group of workers of the organization. The children were delivered to the department in light clothing they were wearing in the workshop, without and warm things. They were detained allegedly for inspection of involvement in a crime committed in the town that day”, Dagmara Musalimova says.

The woman added that her sons were released on the same day, no charges were brought against them. According to her, two years later, on November, 3, 2010, armed and masked policemen came to the Musalimovs’ house with a search order.

“They carried out search without explaining the reason for their visit. Finding nothing illegal they took four mobiles and a computer for inspection. They explained that they were going to inspect the devices on signs of contacts with criminal groups. On the same day they detained my sons Salim and Saiid. However, they were both released and given the confiscated objects back”, Dagmara Musalimova said.

According to the woman, on January, 10, about 50 or 60 armed and masked people with guns burst into a house of a family in the settlement of Charavili, Novolaksky district.

“They drove into the courtyard in two armored troop carriers and a Ural motorcycle destroying everything on their way in the yard. Those who were in the Ural drove into our yard through the one of our neighbours. Without producing a search order they inspected the barn, loft and hayloft. Finding nothing they took our mobiles and carried my husband to municipal Department of Interior Affairs”, Dagmara Musalimova says.

Law enforcement officers interrogated Dagmara Musalimova’s son and husband simultaneously. They also took her underage daughter from the agroeconomic college to Khasavyurt municipal Department of Interior Affairs for interrogation, the woman states.

Salim Musalimov’s photo is placed on a stand of Khasavyurt municipal Department of Interior Affairs “They are searched by militia”. However, Dagmara Musalimova states that the photo is forged for her son “has never worn a beard”.

A source in the Investigative committee of Khasavyurt confirmed the information that Salim Musalimov had a federal wanted notice for infringement on the life of an officer of law enforcement bodies. The source did not specify and details.
