Makhachkala resident claims disappearance of her two sons

In Dagestan, relatives of 31-year old Magomed Murtuzaliev and 30-year-old Abdula Murtuzaliev cannot establish their whereabouts and fear that they might be kidnapped and that their lives and health are at risk. Their mother Zoya Abdulaeva, a resident of Makhachkala, appealed to the Human Rights Centre (HRC) "Memorial" asking to help find her disappeared sons.

According to her, on March 7, Magomed Murtuzaliev and Abdula Murtuzaliev left their house on a Lada Priora car of silver colour towards the sea coast, where every morning they used to do exercises, and they never returned. On March 8, the woman, according to her, visited all city hospitals and did not find her sons there.

According to Zoya Abdulaeva, in the morning of March 10, the house, where her family resides, was visited by power agents, who asked the woman whether their sons prayed, wore beards, and whether there was Muslim literature at the house. According to the woman, the police officers seized passports, mobile phones and a computer of her sons.

Moreover, on March 10, power agents visited the house of Magomed Murtuzaliev, her disappeared eldest son, and seized Muslim books and a computer. According to Zoya Abdulaeva, the police officers returned the passport and the laptop; however, they never returned the mobile phones. This was stated by the message of the HRC "Memorial" received by the "Caucasian Knot" edition office on March 29.

Zoya Abdulaeva filed complaints to the FSB Department in the Republic of Dagestan, asking to locate whereabouts of her sons. Her husband Temirlan Murtuzaliev has also sent a letter to the President of the Republic of Dagestan; however, he has not yet received any response.

On March 28, the parents of the disappeared residents of Dagestan were invited to the Prosecutor's Office in Makhachkala for questioning. According to Zoya Abdulaeva, the investigator Pirov asked within the investigatory case the same questions, which the police officers asked during conducting searches.

At present, the "Caucasian Knot" has no comments from the investigatory agencies, the Prosecutor's Office and the FSB Department in the Republic of Dagestan on complaints filed by Zoya Abdulaeva and Temirlan Murtuzaliev about disappearance of their sons.
