Antonina Mayevskaya’s relatives in Sochi identified her dead body

Today relatives of murdered widow of a well-known cultural figure Joseph Mayevsky Antonina Mayevskaya identified her dead body in the morgue of the city of Sochi, Krasnodar region. Investigator Maxim Bogdanovich and attorney of Mayevskaya’s relatives Igor Kurochkin were present at the identification.

Antonina Mayevskaya disappeared in Sochi in December, 2011, and a stranger settled in her flat. The eighty-seven-years-old pensioner’s disappearance was reported by her neighbours. On February, 17, the investigator reported that Antonina Mayevskaya’s body was found in a river in Khosta and the person suspected of the murder made confessionary statements.

Mayevskaya’s niece Alevtina Morozova and her stepson Yury Mayevsky made sure and confirmed that the dead body was really that of Antonina Mayevskaya. Today she will be buried.

On April, 3, Antonina Mayevskaya’s flat was opened. The victim’s relatives, their attorney, a witness, two policemen and the “Caucasian Knot” correspondent were present. Videos and photos of the flat were taken. In the upshot Mayevskaya’s relatives declared that the belongings, including valuable ones, in the Mayevskys’ flat were ransacked.

Earlier, the investigation reported detention of three local residents for suspicion of Antonina Mayevskaya’s murder for the purpose of seizure of her flat. Yury Molchanov, representative of “Center of citizens’ rights and interests”, did not rule out that members of a group of “black realtors” at large might be involved in Mayevskaya’s murder.
