NAC: five militants killed in special operation in Ingushetia

According to the Russian National Antiterrorist Committee (NAC), today in a special operation in the city of Nazran five militants were killed. One of the casualties has been preliminarily identified as the 23-year-old Salman Gardanov.

A source from the Operational Headquarters of Ingushetia has told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that there was a woman among the liquidated militants.

According to the NAC, the explosion experts from the FSB found improvised explosive devices (IEDs), the so-called "suicide bomber's belts" attached to the bodies of one woman and one man; the IEDs were installed in such manner that they could not be neutralized by the militants themselves, the RIA "Novosti" writes.

According to the experts, the total power of the IEDs was about 5 kg of TNT (trotyl) equivalent.

"According to preliminary data, one of the casualties is Salman Gardanov, born in 1989, an active member of the so-called "Nazran bandit grouping". Currently, the information is checked about Gardanov's involvement in preparation and implementation of the murder of an employee of the FSB Department for the Republic of Ingushetia on March 30 this year," the "Interfax" quotes the statement of the NAC.

The position of Salman Gardanov's relatives in relation to the information about his involvement in illegal armed formations (IAFs) is unknown.
