In Armenia, court rejects Sukiasyan's appeal against CoEC's refusal to register him as candidate for deputy

Today, the Administrative Court of Armenia has dismissed the complaint of the oppositionist Khachatur Sukiasyan against the decision of the Constituency Election Commission (CoEC) No. 10 and upheld the refusal to register him as a candidate.

The court's decision is not subject to challenge and is effective on the date of its promulgation.

The lawyer Ara Zograbyan, who is representing Mr Sukiasyan's interests, has reaffirmed the intention to apply to the European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR).

The experts suggest that the date of the attack on the Orthodox temple was chosen by the militants because of the Christian holiday celebrated on that day.
