Residents of Sochi recommenced actions of protest against developing parking lots

On April, 5, picketing of the children’s center in Constitution street where a parking lot is being built was recommenced in Sochi. Resident of Sochi Marina Sokolova held a single-person picket demanding to stop the construction.

Sokolova held her picket of the building area on April, 5, from 13 till 14 o’clock. The picketer was holding a poster with a slogan: “Stop, vandals! Money is not the only determinant!”

The woman works as a seller in a shop and takes her child to a sports class of the children’s center in Constitution street. “I was walking up and down the street with my slogan during my lunch break trying to draw public attention to the problem of destruction of our city by ignorant and corrupt officials”, Marina Sokolova said to the “Caucasian Knot” correspondent.

Resident of Sochi Galina Markova said that the people living in the neighbouring houses were ready to picket the Administration every day because, according to Markova, they “pay absolutely no attention to the citizens’ demands”.

Local resident Marina Minvaleeva told us that at last the activists were given a chance to see the materials of the inspection carried out by the police on the statement of illegal deforestation in the territory of the children’s center.

“Among the materials of the inspection we found no documents proving legality of the developers and authorities’ actions”, activist of informal movement in protection of the children’s center Zinaida Yevdoshenko declared.
