During rally in Sochi, teachers demand to stop tree felling

Today, six teachers from the Centre for Creative Development and Humanitarian Education in Krasnoarmeyskaya Street held a rally, demanding to stop felling of trees and construction of parking facilities in the territory of the educational institution.

Let us remind you t that on April 5, Sochi residents resumed protest actions against construction of parking facilities in the territories of children's centres. Earlier, in the period of March 19-26, the Sochi inhabitants held a series of pickets to protect trees in the territory of the centre located in Constitution Street. On March 28, the pickets were resumed, since the authorities failed to keep their promises to stop the construction. On March 29, the picketers were attacked by unidentified people, and several persons were injured.

Today's protest action held in Krasnoarmeyskaya Street was attended by six teachers from the children's centre Galina Leschenko, Zinaida Yorzh, Natalia Grineva, Anna Karpova, Tatiana Gagerova, and Evgenia Dubchenko.

Representatives of the Mayoralty and the company-developer have not yet commented on activity of the participants of the protest actions.
