Resident of Cherepovets blames Krasnodar policemen for torture

Mikhail Kalinin, a resident of the city of Cherepovets has applied to the Investigatory Division of Krasnodar, saying that his son Denis Kalinin was detained by policemen from the Krasnodar UVD (Interior Department), after which doctors diagnosed traumas in his son.

Denis Kalinin arrived in Krasnodar from Cherepovets, and stayed with his former colleague. Three days later, they both were detained on suspicion of drug dealing.

When Denis' father came to Krasnodar and met his son at the SIZO (pre-trial prison), he saw traces of beatings. Denis told his father that his traumas were inflicted by employees of the above UVD, the "Novaya Gazeta" wrote on April 11.

"They beat different parts of his body - the abdomen, groin, head, ears, and abused him... by forcing a bottle into his groin," the website "Human Rights in Russia" quotes part of Mikhail Kalinin's application.

Denis Kalinin's traumas were fixed in medical records. Evgeniy Krasyukov, an investigator of the Investigatory Division of Krasnodar said that a check of the application was appointed; the result will be known on April 19, the "Kasparov.ru" reports.
