In Slavyansk-on-Kuban, 500 people rally against doctor's negligence

The action against doctor's errors, held today in Slavyansk-on-Kuban, has brought together more than 500 people: residents of the Slavyansk and Krasnoarmeisk Districts and the cities of Krasnodar, Gelendzhik, Anapa, Gyulkevichi and Krymsk.

Most of the audience consisted of young families; many of them came with their children. They told about the cases which they consider acts of negligence on the part of physicians. The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports that the crowd was addressed by parents of children who died, according to the parents, through the fault of doctors.

The reason for the rally was the incident with the rural spouses Panasenko from the Neschadimov Farm, whose six-week-old son died on March 21 in the Slavyansk Central District Hospital (CDH).

According to preliminary data of physicians, Victor Panasenko, a six-weeks-old child, died from a congenital disease. "His death was caused by a congenital liver disease that reduces blood coagulation and leads to other complications," Elena Redsko, the head of the Krasnodar Territorial Public Health Department, said about the preliminary results of the investigation into the baby's death.

However, the parents argue that the child perished for the fault of doctors. The story received a broad resonance on the Internet; and users of social networks decided to hold a rally.

The action was coordinated with the local administration; however, no representatives of district administration and public health authorities, on whose presence the protesters had insisted, came out to people.

It should be noted that after the investigation held in Slavyansk by the territorial commission into the death of Victor Panasenko, 17 medical specialists were dismissed, the ITAR-TASS reports.

  • Religion experts explain motives for militants’ attacks on synagogue and temple in Dagestan

Ayats (verses) of the Koran, references to which were left by attackers at a synagogue in Derbent, are interpreted by the extremists to justify their confrontation with Jews and Christians, Leonid Syukiyainen and Dmitry Mikulsky point out. The experts suggest that the date of the attack on the Orthodox temple was chosen by the militants because of the Christian holiday celebrated on that day.
