In Krasnodar, "Yabloko" activist sentenced to 15 days in jail

Yaroslav Nikolskiy, an activist of the "Yabloko" Party, who was detained in Krasnodar in the course of his picket at the residence of the Governor of the Territory Alexander Tkachov, was sentenced to 15 days in jail.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on April 13 a picket was held in Krasnodar dedicated to the shortage of places in kindergartens of Krasnodar. Yaroslav Nikolskiy was detained he asked the law enforcers, who came to the place of his solo picket, to present their IDs.

The detainee was taken to the UVD (Interior Department) of the Tsentralny District of Krasnodar, where he was charged under Article 19.3 of the Code of Administrative Offences of the Russian Federation: "Non-fulfilment of legal demands of a policeman".

Today, Magistrate Judge Grekova of the Oktiabrskiy District Court of Krasnodar has found him guilty of disobedience to the lawful demands of the police, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports.

The defence of Yaroslav Nikolskiy will appeal against the verdict.
