175 fires happened during the first three months of 2012 in Chechnya

175 fires with four victims happened in the first quarter of 2012 in the territory of Chechen Republic.

"175 fires of different degree of complexity were registered in the territory of our republic during the past three months. Four people died and 19 got serious burns and traumas as a result of the fires. The firemen saved 78 people and property to a sum of over 35 million rubles", the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Chechnya (MES) reported.

According to the data of the Ministry, every third fire in the republic is caused by violations of the rules of gas stove setting and in every fourth case the cause of ignition is violation of the rules of operational imperfection of electric devices. "Other causes of fire are ordinary human negligence and leaving children unattended by their parents", a representative of MES said.

According to him, preventive actions against fire are being carried out since the beginning of the year at state and commercial objects as well as in the private sector. "During the first quarter of the year 30 750 episodes of violation of fire-fighting regulations were revealed as a result of preventive action in different objects of our republic. At present 24 084 out of these violations have been eliminated", the Ministry reports.

Functioning of 123 objects in Chechnya was suspended because of serious violations revealed during the first three months of 2012. Besides, administrative action was taken against two thousand juridical and physical persons for non-observance of fire-fighting regulations.
