Investigatory bodies of Dagestan check involvement of power agents in kidnapping three residents of Makhachkala

The Prosecutor's Office of Dagestan is verifying the information that law enforcement bodies may have to do with the kidnapping of the resident of Makhachkala Allakhverdi Radjabov; a similar check will be carried out of disappearance of the brothers Magomed and Abdulah Murtazaliev.

The Prosecutor's Office has explained that in both cases the decision to undertake a check was made after reviewing the material published by the "Caucasian Knot".

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported with reference to the relatives that Allakhverdi Radjabov was kidnapped on March 25 at 6:30 p.m. Moscow time near No. 57 in Shamil Street. "He drove his car up to his girlfriend. After she got into the car, unidentified masked men dressed in camouflage and black uniform blocked the car," said one of the relatives of the missing person, who asked not to mention his name out of fear his safety.

According to the relative, which refers to evidences of eyewitnesses, men in camouflage - some 8-10 persons - arrived in three cars. "They first pulled the girl out of the car under the threat of firearms; they, they took away her mobile phone and let her go. Then, the kidnappers tied Radjabov up and took him away together with his car."

The correspondent of the "Caucasian Knot" was informed at the Prosecutor's Office of Dagestan that the Department for Supervision of Investigation, Inquiry and Prosecution of the Prosecutor's Office of Dagestan made a check of the information published on April 2, 2012, by the "Caucasian Knot", about the kidnapping of Allakhverdi Radjabov by strangers dressed in camouflage.

"The check has revealed that on the fact of Radjabov's kidnapping on April 2 an investigator from the Investigatory Division for the Lenin District of Makhachkala of the Investigatory Department for Dagestan of the Investigatory Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF) initiated a criminal case," said the Prosecutor's Office and explained that the case was opened on the attributes of the crimes stipulated by Articles 126, Part 2 (kidnapping), and 162, Part 2 (robbery) of the Russian Criminal Code.

Also, a check is conducted on the report of kidnapping of two brothers - Magomed and Abdulah Murtazaliev. Earlier, the "Caucasian Knot" has reported, with reference to the Human Rights Centre (HRC) "Memorial", where the brothers' mother had addressed, that on March 7 Magomed and Abdulah Murtazaliev left home in a Lada Priora car of silver colour in direction of the sea coast, where they did their morning exercises every day, and never returned.

The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent has learnt from Elena Denisenko, the representative of the HRC "Memorial" in Dagestan, that on March 10 in the morning power agents came to the house, where the brothers' mother Zoya Abdulaeva lives. They asked whether her sons were praying, wearing beards and whether there was Muslim literature in the house. According to her story, policemen took away the brothers' passports, telephones and computer.

"Besides, on March 10 law enforcers came to the house of her elder son Magomed Murtazaliev and confiscated Muslim books and a computer. According to her story, the passport and the laptop were given back, while the telephones haven't been returned yet," the local "Memorial" has noted.

On March 28, the parents of the missing citizens of Dagestan were invited for questioning to the Prosecutor's Office of Makhachkala. Within the search case, according to Abdulaeva, investigator Pirov ask the same questions that the policemen during the searches.

The press service of the Dagestani Prosecutor's Office said that the employees of the above Supervisory Department read the publication of the "Caucasian Knot" about the disappearance of the citizens of Dagestan Murtazaliev brothers and checked the facts presented in the publication.

"On March 26, the Investigatory Division for the Soviet District of Makhachkala of the Investigatory Department for Dagestan of the ICRF received an application of Zoya Abdulaeva about the disappearance of her sons Magomed and Abdulah Murtazaliev. The above Division made a check, on the results of which on April 5, 2012, a criminal case was initiated on attributes of the crime envisioned under Part 2 of Article 105 (murder) of the Russian Criminal Code," said the Prosecutor's Office.

According to the press service, a copy of the publication has been sent to the head of the Investigatory Division of the Soviet District "for the check within the investigated criminal case of the presented arguments about a possible involvement of law enforcers in disappearance of the Murtazaliev brothers."
