Ingush Constitutional Court upholds lawsuit lodged by Ombudsman Djambulat Ozdoev in defence of rights of repressed persons

On May 17, the Constitutional Court of Ingushetia granted the lawsuit filed by Djambulat Ozdoev, the Republic's Ombudsman, connected with defence of social rights of repressed persons and persons recognized affected by political repressions.

Let us remind you that the Court, in particularly, considered the issue of the right of citizens of the republic of that category for resting at sanatoria and free travel on transport to the place of medical treatment.

"The court ruled that the government of Ingushetia should eliminate the uncertainty in the legislation by adopting in the nearest future the appropriate legislative acts," said the Spokesman of the Constitution Court.

Earlier, the Spokesman of the Ministry of Labour and Social Development of Ingushetia reported that, despite the fact that the law on rehabilitation of the repressed nations was adopted, the rights of Ingush people, including the rights related to social protection, have not been reinstated till present.

According to the Ministry of Labour, more than 30 percent of the population can be recipients of such benefits. "In the republic, more than 30,000 victims of the political repressions, excluding the people, who are federal benefit recipients, and persons, who had not reached retirement age, have been officially registered as recipients of benefits from the state budget," said the source.
