The Ministry of Interior Affairs of Chechnya will carry out special operations in Dagestan and Ingushetia

Law enforcement bodies of Chechnya will carry out special operations against participants of paramilitary groups (PMG) in the area of administrative borders with the neighbouring republics and adjoining territories. According to members of power ministries, the majority of the Chechen underground are hiding themselves in the mountains and forestlands near the administrative borders with Dagestan and Ingushetia.

“In fact, most participants of PMGs are presently hiding themselves in the area of administrative borders of our republic with Dagestan and Ingushetia and in case of danger moving there and back in a flash. So, with the concurrence of law enforcement bodies of the neighbouring regions, units of the Ministry of Interior Affairs of Chechnya will work jointly both in the area of the administrative borders and adjoining territories”, a representative of the republican power-wielding structures said to the “Caucasian Knot” correspondent.

According to him, the last special operation for neutralizing participants of PMGs carried out on May, 19, by servicemen of a riot squad regiment of the Ministry of Interior Affairs of Chechnya together with Dagestani policemen in the neighbourhood of the settlement of Tukhchar, Novolaksky district, “was very successful”.

“Two active participants of a PMG were killed. They were resident of Astrakhan Valery Isaenko, alias Khalid, aged 21, and Zurab Abdurzakov, idem Abuzar, aged 35 who was leader of a so-called “Novolaksky Jamiya”, our interlocutor said and added that there were no losses among law enforcement personnel in this special operation.

“With the coming of spring and summertime the underground liven up, as a rule, and try to involve more and more people into their activities and create new bases in the mountains and forestlands difficult of access”, he says.

In the opinion of an officer of the Chechen police, paramilitary groups under the command of brothers Muslim and Hussein Gakaev, natives of the settlement of Elistanji, Vedeno district of Chechnya, are presently the most hazardous ones.
