In Dagestan, Magomedkhan Magomedkhanov's relatives deny version of his death in explosion

Relatives of Magomedkhan Magomedkhanov, whose body was found on May 20 in a burnt-out car in the Untsukul District of Dagestan, identified him and took him to be buried in his native village. This was reported by journalist Fatima Tarasova, the staff member of the Dagestani organization "Pravozaschita" (Advocacy). Relatives believe that power agents are involved in the death of Magomedkhan.

The VAZ-21073 Priora burnt-out car was found at the 30th kilometre of the highway Buinaksk-Arakani, 20 meters away from the forest. According to the Dagestani Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA), inside the car, the burnt body of the Makhachkala resident, whose disappearance had been earlier reported by his relatives, was found. According to the MIA, the man died because of careless handling an improvised explosive device (IED).

A source from the Dagestani MIA confirmed that information to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent. "Magomedkhanov died in the place from the injuries. The explosion caused inflammation of the car," clarified the source. According to him, they seized from the place the explosive device's stuffing in the form of metal nails, dowels, which were planted on mounting glue, and pieces of wire.

However, the relatives of the deceased man are confident that Magomedkhan Magomedkhanov was placed inside the car, when he was dead. "We do not believe that he could carry anything illegal, especially explosives. He was a law-abiding Muslim; he had a family and two children, and he was engaged in horse breeding. He had never been convicted, and he had never been put into wanted list," said one of the relatives of Magomedkhan Magomedkhanov in his interview to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

According to him, the family members will take part in a rally against kidnappings, fabrications of criminal cases and extrajudicial executions, which will be held in Makhachkala on May 28.

The relatives of Magomedkhan Magomedkhanov emphasize that he disappeared with his Priora car of white colour: on May 15 at about 3:00 p.m., he stopped answering phone calls.

Lawyer of Nurmagomed Magomedov, the half-cousin of the disappeared man, reported that, according to unconfirmed information, Magomedkhan Magomedkhanov was kidnapped at about 12:00 a.m. in the vicinities of Ametkhan Sultan Avenue in Makhachkala by men in camouflage and masks. Madina Badrudinova, the wife of Magomedkhan Magomedkhanov, reported that on the day, when her husband disappeared, a special operation was held near the place of their residence.
