The policemen in Astrakhan broke off a walk of Shein’s supporters

A meeting of residents of Astrakhan on the bank of the Volga held on May, 20, with Oleg Shein’s participation was broken off by the police personnel.

According to Oleg Shein, the meeting “OccupyVolgai” (“Occupy to Volga”) named by analogy with Moscow folk festival “OccupyAbai” was going on peacefully. The townsmen were singing songs, dancing, the KVN people were performing before the public. According to Oleg Shein’s post in his blog, he sang the song “All chained together…”.

However, later on the people had to break up upon insistent demands of law enforcement officers who arrived at the bank of the Volga, IA “Volga-Caspiy” reports.

The reasons for the demand to break up were not specified. There are no reports of incidents or detentions.

“Any walk with Oleg Shein is declared a demonstration”, Oleg Babich, Head of Legal Department of Confederation of Labour of Russia, commented on calling the participants of the action in Shein’s support to account.
