Dagestani athletes win European competitions in Combat Sambo and Judo

At the European Championship in Sport and Combat Sambo, held on May 18-20 May in Moscow, athlete Sultan Aliev became one of the Russians athletes, who won the gold medals. Abdul Abdulzhalilov, another fighter from the republic, won the European Cup in Judo in the competitions held on May 19-20 in Orenburg.

In total, at the European Championship in Sport and Combat Sambo, athletes from Russia won 19 gold medals.

Sultan Aliev, the pupil of Gadjimurad Bulatov, the Dagestani coach, who competed in the weight category of 90 kg, had three fights and defeated all three competitors. In the final fight against Kamen Georgiev, ex-European Champion, the Dagestani fighter achieved the slashing score (12:0), the RIA "Dagestan" reports.

In the final fight, Abdul Abdulzhalilov, who competed in the weight category of up to 66 kg, defeated his team-mate Aznaur Ardanov. At the competitions, Russian men have won five out of six weight categories; in Orenburg, Russian women-athletes were the best in two weight categories, the website of the Dagestani Ministry of Sports reports.
