A soldier wounded as a result of an explosion in Ashuluk firing range, Astrakhan region

An explosion of ammunition prepared for utilization happened on May, 24, in Ashuluk firing range of the Ministry of Defense of Russia located in Khabarli district of Astrakhan region. A serviceman got injured, a source in law enforcement bodies reported.

According to him, at the moment of off-loading the ammunition from a "KamAZ" truck in the territory of Ashuluk range ignition and blasting of 145 boxes with 840 rounds for grenade launchers meant for utilization occurred.

A serviceman of the Ministry of Defense of Russia got wounded as a result and was rendered medical aid, "Interfax" reports.

There is no dander for the neighbouring settlements, RIA "Novosti" reports adding that there have been no comments from the Ministry of Defense concerning the incident yet.
