Aslan Cherkesov's father killed in KBR

Magomed Cherkesov, the father of Aslan Cherkesov, convicted for the murder of a Moscow "Spartak" football fan, was killed in the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic (KBR). The suspect of the murder has been detained, said a source from the Baksan Inter-District Investigatory Division of the Investigatory Department for the KBR of the Investigatory Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF).

Yegor Sviridov was killed at night on December 6, 2010. Aslan Cherkesov was unanimously found guilty by the jury of the murder and sentenced by the Moscow City Court to 20 years of imprisonment in a high security colony. In January, the Russian Supreme Court reduced the term to 19 years and 10 months. Aslan Cherkesov refused to admit his guilt.

"The application about the disappearance of the 68-year-old resident of Nalchik Magomed Cherkesov, who worked as a private taxi driver, was submitted by his relatives on June 5. His car – a VAZ-2106 – was searched, and on the following day, June 6, a 23-year-old resident of the village of Kuba-Taba, Baksan District, who was driving the car, was detained," said the spokesman of the ICRF.

According to his story, on the same day the above young man pointed the place to investigators, where he had hid the body of Cherkesov – in a field near Kuba-Taba. The investigation has established that the suspect got into Cherkesov's car near the Central Marketplace in Nalchik, and then in Kuba-Taba, struck him twice with a knife, from which Magomed Cherkesov died, the RIA "Novosti" reports.
