33 investment agreements signed on the first day of the Dagestani Economic Forum

On June 8, the Dagestani Economic Forum was attended by about 1500 participants, including those from abroad, who signed 33 agreements. The main topic of the event is the development of an efficient economy of the region, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports.

Among the projects brought to the economic forum, the head of Dagestan Magomedsalam Magomedov highlighted the textile production facility presented by Turkish businessmen, which would create 5000 jobs, and an Italian factory for making ceramic-granite tiles.

In total, more than 85 delegations, including 11 foreign ones, are taking part. Dagestan welcomes businessmen who have arrived from Austria, Italy, Hungary, Turkey, Moldova, Czech Republic, Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, Iran, Kazakhstan, the United States and many regions of Russia.

Alexander Khloponin, Plenipotentiary for the North-Caucasian Federal District (NCFD), has reminded that on June 5 in Beijing an agreement was signed between the "Resorts of Northern Caucasus" and Chinese partners to the sum of about 3 billion US dollars.

"Much of these resources will go, among other things, to the development project of the Caspian Sea cluster in the Republic of Dagestan. This is a very important project of the agreement. I think that quite soon we'll see Chinese experts in the territory of Dagestan. We plan to seriously monitor the project and promote it," said Alexander Khloponin.

Regarding the development of the tourist cluster in Dagestan, the participants of debates at the forum noted that the process could be hampered by too expensive flights to Makhachkala.
