A five-day environmental action starts in Adygea today

The first five-day environmental action "Clean forest, clean spring" within the framework of which volunteers of Adygea will clean objects of "Bolshoi Tkhach" natural park from debris will start today, June, 11. Cleaning is generally planned in the territory of Taiwan hole, Koryto mountain and Shestakov glade.

"Bolshoi Tkhach" natural park in Adygea as well as natural memorials "Khrebet Buiny", "Upper reach of the Tsitse river", "Upper reach of the Pshekha and Pshekhaha rivers", the Caucasian biosphere wildlife preservation and its buffer zone were acknowledged objects of World nature heritage "Western Caucasus" by UNESCO in 1999.

"A great amount of debris piled up in recreation areas and along the paths. Therefore, the goal of our action is cleaning and improving the territories of the park as well as promotion of environmental education of the population" inspector of "Bolshoi Tkhach" natural park Dana Achokh said.

The action was organized in collaboration with non-governmental nature conservation center "Nabu-Caucasus", Federation of sporting tourism of Adygea, Republican Committee of tourism and health resorts and Regional Committee for youth affairs. Participants of the action are provided with transport to Taiwan hole and minimal food packages: tinned stewed meat, groats, condensed milk and tea.

Incidentally it is planned to mark paths again and somewhere lay new ones. About 16 to 17 kilometers paths have already been cleaned but there still remains much work to do, "Yuga.ru" reports.

The organizers hope that the action will promote development of hiking and environmental tourism in the area of the natural park, RIA "Novosti" reports.

The action "Clean forest, clean spring" will last till June, 15.
