Dagestani resident reports on disappearance of his father

Disappearance of Murad Ilyasov, a 47-year-old resident of the village of Verkhnie Ubeki of the Levashi District, which occurred on June 11, and the fact that till that time his whereabouts are unknown was reported by Mustafa Ilyasov, the son of the disappeared man.

Besides, he stated that earlier, his father was repeatedly invited for a conversation to the OVD (Interior Division) of the Levashi District.

"There are only several people, who commit prayers. As soon as my father began to strictly adhere to the canons of Islam, someone started a rumour that he was a Wahhabi. Since that time, policemen began to invite him for conversations and asked different questions like: 'Why do you pray and what that gives you?' Last time, policemen have a talk with my father in last year; at that time, they carried out a search in our house and found nothing," the source emphasized.

He does not exclude that law enforcement agents may be involved in the disappearance of his father. "My father had no enemies, and since in Dagestan there have been cases of kidnapping of Muslims by power agents, it seems to me that the latter are involved in the disappearance of my father," Mustafa Ilyasov stated.
