In Yerevan, court fines Tigran Khzmalyan, activist of group "Brigade"

Today, in Yerevan, the administrative court pronounced the verdict of guilty in the case against producer Tigran Khzmalyan, the fourth activist of the initiative group 'Brigade'' to protect the Mashtots Park. He was fined for the amount of 50,000 drams.

Let us remind you that the members of the group "Brigade" were accused of disobeying policemen on April 15 during the dismantling of trade stalls, transferred to the Mashtots Park from Abovyan Street, one of the central streets of Yerevan. On June 8, in Yerevan, the administrative court decided on the case against Karen Shikoyan, Manvel Sarkisyan, and Karo Egnukyan, three activists of the initiative group ''Brigade'' and fined them for the amount of 53,000 drams.

Tigran Khzmalyan, like the other three members of the group ''Brigade'', was charged of disobeying policemen.

Judge Artsruni Mirzoyan granted the police's claim and made a decision: a fine of 50,000 drams. Besides, the activists will be charged of 3000 drams in favour of the state. In total, Tigran Khzmalyan is to pay 53,000 drams (about 128 US dollars).

Upon completion of the court session, the producer stated that he did not accept the court decision and intended to challenge it. The other fined activists reported on the same decision.
