ICRF: debts and work for MIA are versions of Abdulmalikov's murder

Versions of the assassination of Magomed Abdulmalikov, ex-Chief of the Untsukul ROVD (District Interior Division), include his debts and his former service in the bodies of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA). This was reported by the Spokesman of the Investigatory Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF) in Dagestan. Former colleagues of Magomed Abdulmalikov believe that Lieutenant Colonel was assassinated by extremists to avenge his activities in the MIA's bodies.

"We have no information on threats against Magomed Abdulmalikov. At present, no one was detained," the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told by the Spokesman of the Investigatory Department of the ICRF in Dagestan.

Recently, Magomed Abdulmalikov worked at the Government Committee on Development of Small and Medium Businesses. Abdurakhmangadji Gadjimagomedov, Acting Chairman of the Committee, stated that an attempt on their staff member could not be related to his work at the Committee.

"Magomed Abdulmalikov worked at our institution for less than a year. This murder could not be related to his work at the Committee. He was one of three staff members, involved in assessment of property at issuance of loans, and the final decision on those issues was not in his competence," Abdurakhmangadji Gadjimagomedov has emphasized.

Magomed Shamilov, the leader of the Independent Trade Union of staff members of the OVD (Interior Division) and prosecutors, believes that Magomed Abdulmalikov was one of the most experienced and efficient commanders of the territorial authorities, who could find common ground with people of both secular and Sharia views.

According to Magomed Shamilov, Magomed Abdulmalikov had experience of work in the most dangerous hot spots.

"And then, when the need for him disappeared, he was fired due to reaching the age limit of 45 years. He worked for some period at private security agency in Buinaksk and then at the Passport Office. After his discharge, he was trying to reinstate himself in the MIA's bodies, but he did not succeed. In recent months, he worked at the Committee to support entrepreneurship," stated the leader of the Independent Trade Union of staff members of the OVD and prosecutors.

"He was a very worthy man, a real officer, a lieutenant colonel. I'm afraid this is not the last assassination. Those people, whom the extremists have pronounced a sentence, should not be discharged and, moreover, left without arms and protection," Magomed Shamilov believes.

Magomed Abdulmalikov left three sons and one daughter.
