In the second quarter of 2012, 355 persons suffered from armed conflict in Northern Caucasus

At least 355 persons fell victim to the armed conflict in Northern Caucasus in the second quarter of this year. Of them, 169 persons were killed and at least 186 more were wounded. These are the results of calculations of the "Caucasian Knot", based on its own materials and information from open sources.

The list of 169 casualties includes 49 law enforcers, 108 persons, announced to be members of illegal armed formations (IAFs), and 12 civilians.

Among 186 wounded persons there are 125 law enforcers, two alleged members of the armed underground and 59 civilians.

One should understand that the above statistics cannot reflect with absolute accuracy the number of victims in each of the identified categories of the survey. Not all the data gets into news reports. It is not always possible to verify the reliability of statements made by law enforcement bodies.

The "hottest" point was Dagestan - there, in April, May and June 2012, at least 237 persons suffered from the armed conflict: 102 persons were killed and 135 more wounded. 33 law enforcers and 61 persons involved, according to law enforcement bodies, in the armed underground, were killed. Also, eight civilians were killed. The list of those wounded includes 92 power agents, 41 civilian and two persons, involved, according to the authorities, in IAFs.

The second place belonged to Kabardino-Balkaria, where at least 41 persons suffered: 25 persons were killed and 16 more wounded. Among the casualties - six law enforcers, 18 persons involved, according to law enforcement bodies, in the armed underground, and one civilian. The list of those wounded includes 10 power agents and six civilians.

In the territory of Ingushetia, in April, May and June, at least 36 persons fell victim to the armed conflict; of them 14 persons were killed and 22 more wounded. Among those killed - four power agents, seven individuals involved, according to law enforcement bodies, in the armed underground and three civilians. The list of those wounded includes 16 law enforcers and six civilians.

In the territory of the Chechen Republic, in April, May and June 2012, at least 24 persons were affected, of whom 15 persons were killed and nine more wounded. Among those killed - four law enforcers and 11 individuals involved, according to law enforcement bodies, in the armed underground. Among those wounded - five power agents and four civilians.

In the territory of the Stavropol Territory, in April, May and June 2012, at least 11 persons, of whom nine persons were killed and two more wounded, suffered from the ongoing armed conflict in Northern Caucasus. Among those killed - nine persons involved, according to law enforcement bodies, the armed underground. Two civilians were wounded.

In the territory of Karachay-Cherkessia, in April, May and June 2012, there were at least six victims of the armed conflict, including four killed and two wounded persons. Among the casualties - two law enforcers and two persons involved, according to law enforcement bodies, in the armed underground. Two law enforcers were wounded.

The "Caucasian Knot" wrote that in the first quarter of this year, at least 258 persons suffered from the armed conflict in Northern Caucasus: 163 persons were killed and at least 95 more were wounded.
