We call your attention to the statement by the Board of the Russian Society "Memorial":

The Society "Memorial" has been often asked recently what the Society's attitude towards the forthcoming election of the Russian President is. Therefore the Board of the Russian Society "Memorial" finds it necessary to announce the following.

"Memorial" does not back up the candidacy of the present President, and it is undoubted. At the same time, Memorial, as a united organization, does not support election campaigns of the other candidates either. The Board reminds that each regional organization of Memorial has the right to take its own separate stand on the issue of elections.
