Chechen field commander arrested in Kemerovo region

The former second-in-command of the so called "Islamic special operations regiment" under the command of Arbi Barayev was arrested in the Kemerovo region. He has been wanted by the federal law-enforcement agencies as a committer of a number of grave crimes on the territory of Chechnya in 1994-1999. The former "field commander" was detained in the village of Tisul, the Kemerovo region. Barayev's ex-deputy has been conveyed to the Main Department for Struggle Against Organized Crime of the Russian Interior Ministry's Criminal Police Service, the press service of the Main Interior Department in the Siberian Federal District reported on January 19.
