Armenian Journalists Association presents two books about work of mass media

A presentation of the books "Council of Europe Documents in the Media Field" and "New Times" took place at the Armenian Journalists Association on February 27. The books were translated and published by the Yerevan Press Club with the financial assistance of the Open Society Institute. "Council of Europe Documents in the Media Field" includes documents adopted by the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe. Director of the Yerevan Press Club Boris Navasardian pointed to the importance of the book "New Times" by Director of Research and Information at the World Association of Newspapers Tatiana Repkova. It was written as a result of the researches and analysis made by the author in Europe and the United States. Mr Navasardian noted that the author touched upon the following problems: how to found, manage and work with the newspaper under conditions of the society transforming from dictatorship to democracy. Examples from the real life of countries that have passed through this transformation are given in the book, noted Mr Navasardian. The books will be handed over to departments of journalism of all institutions of higher education and given to journalists free of charge, said the editor and publisher, Deputy Chairman of the Yerevan Press Club Mesrop Arutyunian.
