In Adygea, events on Day of Circassian Flag attended by 1700 residents

On April 25, Adygea held events dedicated to celebration of the Day of Circassian Flag. Most events were held on Lenin Square in Maikop.

Let us remind you that in Maikop, on the Day of Circassian Flag, it was planned to hold the automobile rally sanctioned by the authorities and the Circassian dance contest "Adyghe Djegu". The celebrations were also held in Kabardino-Balkaria and Karachay-Cherkessia.

According to the information of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) of Adygea, in total, the event was attended by about 1700 residents of the republic, and their safety was provided by more than 80 staff members of the republic's police.

About 600 residents of the republic's centre took part in the automobile rally. The automobiles were accompanied to the place of the festive concert on Lenin Square by horsemen.

The solemn ceremony of raising the Circassian Flag was attended by Aslan Djarimov, first Republic's President. The masters of ceremonies of the festive event have noted that Aslan Djarimov played a key role in approval and adoption of the national flag in its new status the national flag of Adygea.

Besides, the flag-raising ceremony was attended by Sachnet Derbe, a staff member of the Teuchezhsky House of Culture of the City of Adygeisk, the first flag embroiderer, Adam Bogus, Chairman of the Movement "Adyge Khase-Circassian Parliament", Arthur Bagadirov, Chairman of the youth wing of the Movement, and other public figures and politicians.

The Circassian Flag is one of the main symbols of the Adyg (Circassian) people. It represents a green rectangular box, which depicts three golden crossed arrows and 12 golden stars.

The programme has ended with a gala concert with the participation of prominent figures of culture and art of the republic.
