Amtsakhara movement accuses Abkhazian authorities of murdering its activist

The Abkhazian social and political movement Amtsakhara accuses Abkhazian authorities of political terror and the murder of its activists Aleksandr Psardia. The movement's political council issued a statement in connection with the death of Psardia on March 23, in which it accuses the authorities of persecuting the opposition and terrorizing political opponents.

Aleksandr Psardia was killed in a car explosion on March 22, according to information of the Abkhazian Interior Ministry. Daur Kvaratskhelia, another activist of the movement, got severe injuries.

Amtsakhara rates the murder of it activist as the authorities' refusal to constructively cooperate with the opposition and demands that the crime be immediately investigated.

"If the authorities do not disclose the murder of Psardia, Amtsakhara, which unites the majority of Abkhazian fighters, reserves the right to provide safety for its members itself," reads the statement.
